Installer Update

Again, we appreciate your patience, and your frustration. The entire Mosaic team is working through some technology issues related to the rollout of the Mosaic for you all today. We’ll have it available shortly, and will update you here as soon as it is ready.

Thanks,

Justin

I am amazed that after the entire winter, it is still not ready. Unbelievable!!! Hope its ready by tonight’s Red Sox game at 10 PM or I am cancelling.

could not agree with you more. the amount of money MLB.COM is apparently raking in, and opening day is a disaster. i hate to be cruel, but heads must roll.

Being in the web development field myself I can understand how things can go wrong and deadlines aren’t met when you are understaffed but that’s really the only excuse for something like this. And if in fact you are understaffed then there is no excuse for the with the money we pay for this service. You should offer all subscribers a portion of their fee back because of this unneccessary inconvenience on what is supposed to be an otherwise happy and celebratory type of day.

I don’t understand this at all. I even joined the Premium plan last month (they just took my second payment) and I can’t even use what I paid for on Opening Day. Unreal.

Patience and frustration are one thing when you are offering a free service and encountering difficulties. It is quite another when people pay for the service and pay for it because you’ve promised a certain product. If you are failing to deliver that product as promised (and with several games going on right now and Mosaic unavailable, you are), you need to offer at least a partial refund to the people who are paying for that product. This is how last season started, and the Mosaic product was riddled with bugs throughout the season. Based on that experience, I have no intention of wasting my money on a product that isn’t available or doesn’t work again, and if it’s not fixed in the next few hours, I intend to cancel my service.

MLB.TV has no problem imposing its idiotic requirements on its customers (see: the Saturday blackout restrictions as it applies to regions not showing an interesting game on FOX), yet you can’t even fulfill the most basic parts of your contract with the consumer – namely, making the product that the consumer is paying for available.

Couldn’t we get last years version of Mosaic, and update to the new version later? You guys could take your time, get it right, but give us something here! We paid good money to get the extra features like mosaic.

What really makes this unbelievable is that they had the same problems last year on opening day. You would think people would learn their lesson.

You all do realize that you can still watch single games using MLB premium. The Mosaic will be up soon enough, relax. Of course it’s frustrating, but stuff like this happens all the time in technology. I’m sure the Yankees weren’t expecting their opening day to be postponed, and I’m sure that the mlb.tv team didn’t expect some unforseen problem to occur, but it did, they’re working on it, it’s out of your hands, you can’t do anything about it so just relax! No use complaining about something you can’t control.

And to the guy that’s worried about the Red Sox game tonight, they’re off, they’re playing Oakland tomorrow.

They are probably sitting there counting their (formerly our) money reading this and laughing in agreement, only referring to us.

“it’s out of your hands, you can’t do anything about it so just relax!”

I could not pay them for a product they’re not providing. Just a thought.

By all means, do so. I’m not going to argue with you, however, I won’t be wasting my time and energy arguing with them over missing a ballgame or a few. There’s only 4857 games left! If this is a problem a few days from now or a week, month, and so on from now, then I will be getting my refund. However, you can still watch the games on MLB premium individually, which is what I’m doing, and wait patiently for the Mosaic’s return.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully Mosaic will be worth the wait and better than the new media player on the mlb.tv premium. The full screen and only fills have the screen and the 1.2mb looks choppy and no better than the 800K. Otherwise, I am cancelling.

I am very disappointed in this whole system.
I am paying extra for mosiac and it doesn’t work right, I get the dreaded loading window all of the time. Other problems that I get is that I am signed in already and today it booted me off saying it could verify if I was in a blackout area.

Frankly what disappoints me the most is that I can’t get this on my TV, being a Dish Network customer I have been shut out of the national pastime. For years I paid my $159 for the package and last year it was taken away because of greed on MLB’s part. This mosaic still doesn’t work properly and MLB should be ashamed and I hope that other media outlets tell people how crummy this package now is.

Shame on you Baseball for not being ready and we should all get a portion of our money back for the time we have wasted and aggrevation this has caused.

I have just installed the mosaic and it works fine on my 1.5 MPS connection. But the loading time to start the mosaic is way to long! It took me 15 minutes for it to load. I know that my 250 meg ram hurts some, but it should not be that much. Because I have a high resolution flat screen monitor your picture quality is very good. It changes game to game quickly once started. So the oly issue I am finding is the start up time.

Use the old media player i didnt need mosaic or 1.2 because it still dont work. Mosaic does work for me though check your start- up programs in your computer could be blocking it from installing or starting up all you need to have checked in start-up progams is anti-virus.
