Hi all,

We just posted a new release that should fix the startup audio issue on the PCs (audio not on when you first start the app or when you switch streams). In addition, we doing some things differently with video on the PC version now, which should significantly improve playback quality on the streams. Some of you had accurately commented earlier that it didnt look the same as it does in the media player on the site, and it now should.

Again, thanks for all of your comments. We have a dedicated team of engineers going through the threads here and responding (in addition to me) to issues that are raised here. I’ve also spoken with a ton of you all today, and am doing my best to get back to emails as well.

I’ll be putting up in a bit a summary of where we think we are and provide an opportunity for you guys to give us some feedback on new features and functionality we introduced this year.

    With the new update, Mosaic no longer loads properly on my computer. It stops responding at the “Looking for update” screen. I’m running 24-bit Vista. It was working smoothly prior to the last update.

    Mosaic worked fine for me on my laptop until today. Now when I start it, it attempts to install the update, then crashes. I get the message from Vista that the application has stopped working.

    Im also getting the MLBAppStar.exe has stopped working message as soon as its about to finish the install of the update, and then program closes, Im also using Vista premium 32-bit, it was somewhat working before this update except for single view games. Im seriously getting fed up with this.

    Also running a Vista system. When originally installed this afternoon, it caused massive screen resolution flicker problems (Dell Inspiron e1705 native resolution 1920×1200). I rebooted a few minutes ago and when I tried to load Mosaic, it downloaded an update which now causes an error resulting in the program shutting down. I no longer can access Mosaic.

    Uninstalling, re-downloading and re-installing Mosaic fixed the update error where the exe had an error and the program closed.

    running it as an administrator got me past the error, but I still cant view any games in single game mode, Im going to completely uninstall the program tonight and re-download it and see if it helps, but im pretty sure its not gonna change one thing.

    Maybe it’s an illusion but the 700k single game feeds look much better now. I love Mosaic because the games are widescreen and even on my 46-inch 1080p LCD, they are very watchable. Not a fan of accessing the games on the browser cause they are 4:3.. Mosaic fills out at 16:9 and doesn’t look bad at all in fullscreen mode, in my opinion. Keep it up guys.

    i had the same problem as hogan and adamland. i uninstalled and reinstalled. now i can get back into mosaic but it never finds a connection. it did earlier.

    dylan, I got stream error in 6-game mode too. Not a problem for me though cause i don’t watch 6-game mode. I use single game mode and use mosaic cause it’s a widescreen picture and offers quicker switching from game to game then the browser

    I don’t mind helpin out if I can. I’ve had very few issues with the service besides quality of the 700k picture so I can’t really **** on the service. I also have never had the Extra Innings package so I knew what to expect as a MLB.tv subscriber for three years

    Well I still have mega problems with mine! I got a Radeon 9800 Pro with over 3MB line and still can hardly get it work which is a huge shame for me. I live in UK and cant watch it! It buffers quite often and general Mosaic in my opinion is not great.

    I am having the same problems as philhanson@yahoo.com. Major flasing between my desktop and a black screen when it seems to be trying to update. Then it brings the screen that says loading, asks for my user Id and Password, enter that, some more major flashing then I always get a MLBAMPlayer.exe screen with an error after that.

    MLBAMPlayer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    I know this is a little off topic but I was checking my bank account online today the same one I paid for with MLB.com and my subscription showed that I paid 19.99 for but I also had 28 $1.00 charges from mlb.com that are still pending. I have only signed in to mosiac today. I am thinking that everytime you sign into your mlb account to watch a game it is chrarging the account you bought mlb tv with. Is anyone else seeing this in your bank account if not you might want to check! Any response would be great thanks!!

    I remember reading that everytime you filled out the CC verification that was going around, it would temporarily charge your card $1 if you were using the free trial. Those charges are simply temporary authorizations that will be dropped according to what I read.

I saw that to with the cc verification but the thing is I signed in only on mosiac not the website where the cc verification showed up and it still showed the 1$x5 deductions in my account?     ok so, i uninstalled and re installed and it loads up fine, no problems with the audio and it even shows the video. my problem is that the video freezes every few seconds and the timing is messed up meaning a crappy stream. lastly, it will only connect on the low quality stream not on the medium or high. it says that it cannot connect to please try a different connectivity level.

    i am using mosaic with vista. I did the uninstall, re-download and install of mosaic to get it working. I also get 6 game view working on lowest quality. Higher two qualities and I get stream errors. I love the fixed 700k single game. Looks Sweet.

    Guys, we’re looking into the CC issue now. We’ve had a few reports of it, but have confirmed that its definitely not happening for everyone.

    In addition, we’re not actually charging your cards, just performing an AUTH for $1, which allows us to check the address.

    It looks like this might be due to putting in invalid data, but we’ll know more shortly.

    I have discovered a different, more troubling problem. When I did the download reinstall fix, Mosaic worked fine, but now I cannot load a ton of content-heavy websites in my browser like mlb.com, espn.com, etc. I think (just a guess) that swarmcast is somehow interfering with my browser. When I completely uninstall swarmcast and Mosaic, I can go to the websites, but if I install Mosaic and swarmcast, I cannot. Please advise.

    My mosaic looks the same as last night. To make it clear to you, at the highest video quality setting in a 6 screen view, the score banner that appears on the screen is so blurry it’s unreadable. This looks nothing like the clarity on mlb.com’s promotional area for this product. What should I do?

    Thanks to the newest build, I have extremely limited internet connectivity. I can only load text-based webpages, gmail, etc. Also, Mosaic is no longer able to connect to the internet to update itself. It’s one thing to screw up your own product, it’s another when it goes beyond the product itself and interferes with my ability to connect to the internet in general. I am computer savvy and am working to fix this on my own, but some help from your end would be much appreciated.

I’m ready to call MLB.com and cancel my membership. Its not worth the aggravation. Mosaic is a waste of money, I really hope that cable gets Extra Innings back soon!!!

    I continue to uninstall the software, re-install, and am not able to open the software due to “failure to initialize”.

    1 – Why is there ONE PERSON named “Justin” who is responsible for fielding all of these issues. This isn’t 2 or 3 small customer specific problems – IT’S A MASSIVE FAILURE OF YOUR PRODUCT. People are not responding to phone calls and emails because there are thousands unable to enjoy the product they paid money for. I’ve never seen anything like this.

    2 – I’ve posted several times. I appreciate “Justin” is one person and can only post updates as they come in. Why are they buried in this blog? Answer – THEY’RE STILL SELLING THE PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT WORK! If I hadn’t caught this blog early on opening day, I’d be with the masses on hold for an hour.

    3 – On Monday, I was told mosaic could not run on 64 bit operating systems. This was the first I’ve heard of that little problem – some three weeks after I “upgraded” my subscription. And that’s all I’ve heard. No word on whether or not a 64 bit version will be available. And if so, when.

    This entire experience has been infuriating. You ripped me and everyone else off for $120. The people who will pay $120 to watch 6 baseball games at once ON A COMPUTER are a little more than mom and dad taking the kids to 1-2 games a year. We’re the core audience and you totally screwed us. You can’t tell me that you weren’t aware of the various problems with this software. It’s a completely failed product and there should be refunds immediately.

    Please respond to the issues I’ve mentioned. I’ve got better things to do than monitor this blog and install and install and install after every “update”.

    This is the 3rd day that I get the “Stream error, retrying” and “Network stream error” in Mosaic regardless of new updates and rebooting daily. As I mentioned last evening, I made sure that “MLBAMPlayer.exe” and “MLBAppStart.exe” was permitted by my Windows XP SP2 Firewall to go through.

    All I am seeing in Mosaic is a blank, black screen whether in 6-game/4-game/1-game mode. I have zero problems with 400K and 700K videos found on mlb.com. What *is* the issue that I have then?

    mosaic was working great yesterday today after it downloaded the update and installed, I now get ” MLBAppStart.exe has stopped working correctly & windows will close the program”. it now closes mosaic and gived me the same result after tyring several times.
    How can I get work again before the update? I am missing my games.

    Mosaic 6 game works good at low quality and I have no issues with audio. My problem is that I cannot go from 6 game mode to single game mode. I get an error saying, “Stream error, retrying”. Any thoughts?

I have XP with DSL service.And now get this, my regular MLBTV was working great and now today, when I try to open the viewing screen it shuts my internet connection down.

    I’ve been timing the interval in between pauses due to buffering. It has averaged about 1 minute 30 seconds, with intervals as short as 50 seconds and as long as 2 minutes.

    I’ve confirmed that my internet connectivity problems were indeed caused by swarmcast. I started swarmcast, then tried to load mlb.com, and could not load the page. Then I immediately uninstalled swarmcast, and mlb.com loaded up just fine. Swarmcast seems to be wreaking havoc on my system, as I could not load about half of the websites I tried to visit.

I reinstalled mosaic for the 5th time today, to see if maybe somehow it would work right this time and still nothing, but now this time, I dont have swarmcast for some reason, its not even showing up in my programs through control panel.. and Now im not getting ANY games streamin in 6 game view, and still my main concern for the past days.. single view games still don’t work for me, I keep getting streaming errors, yet the 700k version on mlb.tv is still coming in fine. What gives, my computer meets all requirements.

    I am trying very, very hard to remain calm and not just FLAME this sorry MOSAIC product.

    I’m really surprised because MLB TV works great on my computer. I get big, beautiful, smooth video on the premium 700k stream. NO buffering problems. NO connection issues. NO stream errors. Graphics all work, game data is correct and in synch with the video. The connection stays solid all the time.

    None of this really works on MOSAIC. In fact, nothing works reliably. Only pieces of MOSAIC work intermittently. On the 6 screen view, rarely do any games show up. When they happen to, they are choppy and often freeze. Most of the time, the application just sits there… trying to reconnect or stuck in buffering.

    The single game view is particularly frustrating. For instance, tonight the CHC/CIN game would display intermittently fine but no other game would come up.

    What bothers me most about this is that when this product was introduced in the middle of the 2006 baseball season, the same problems were present, were well documented, and everyone gave MLB a pass. We believed MLB would fix the bugs and produce a quality product by opening day.

    MLB failed or simply refused to invest in solving the problems. They took a big chunk of our money (120 bucks) with false promises of product capbabilities they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) deliver.

    Now they put the happy face Justin out there to ask your forgiveness, pacify your anger, and waste your time with worthless updates that don’t fix the bugs.

    MLB should be ashamed of pushing this sorry product off on their customers… and for penuriousnessly treating us like children.

    Mosaic worked very well for me tonight, but only on the lowest quality in both 4, 6, and single game mode. The buffering was rare, so if I could just get the high quality to work, it would be near perfect.

    The video quality of the Mosaic (on all three levels) is significantly worse than the standard MLB Premium 700k. It is not worth viewing 4 or 6 games at once if you can’t clearly see any of them. Can we anticipate the clarity of these multi-game views improving at all?

    I just downloaded the mosaic app. I am using Windows XP. When I try to run the setup.exe it says there is an error reading the initialization file and doesn’t run. What’s going on?

    Also, I have a suggestion for the MLBTV. It would be great if you could provide the ability to fast forward by a certain number of seconds. The slider bar is too cumbersome to use. It would be great if there were buttons that allow us to fast forward by 20 seconds or even by 5 seconds at a time so we can skip through the game a little faster.

    Also, it would be awesome if you provided a version of the condensed games that showed every single pitch and not just the key moments. It’s fun to watch the whole game in less time.

    everything seems to be working fine for me here other than buffering at random times w/in mosaic. buffering during the red sox game on the web only happenend once. however, using the 4 game matrix in mosaic, it will buffer once every minute or so.

    I’ve seen it myself, but it comes and goes. Mostly goes away. If you want to send me your dxdiag file I can tell you if it’s your computer

    – Click on [Start]

    – Click on [Run]

    – In the [Run] line type “DXDIAG” (no quotes).

    – A DirectX dialog window will open.

    – On that dialog will be a “Save all information as” button.

    – Click that button and save the information as: .txt to the Desktop then email that to me.

    Anyone have a suggestion? I install the Mosaic but as its performing the update it says:
